International Student Orientation
International Student Orientation is a welcome program at Washington College. This program is mandatory for all incoming international students. Upon arrival at Washington College, students in the fall will have a one-week orientation program that will take them step-by-step through everything that they need to know as International Students at this institution. Students arriving in the spring will have a three-day orientation.
During Orientation, you will discover Washington College and the surrounding waterfront town of Chestertown, Maryland. You will meet other international and domestic students while learning important information that will help your transition to Washington College be smooth and successful. There will be time to get student IDs, set up bank accounts, shop, and get American cell phones.
The orientation program aims to (1) help you with the initial adjustment and acclimatization to the U.S. and Washington College; (2) ensure that you have an overview of the academic system in the U.S. and time to meet with your advisor; (3) meet and get to know other international students and incoming U.S. students; (4) familiarize you with campus and the community of Chestertown.
