    Majors: English and Art

I work with students grades 6-12 at Maryvale Preparatory School in Baltimore, MD as the Director of Learning Support and lately, English teacher. I am responsible for managing student learning plans, and working with students that need additional academic support. During my time at Maryvale, I have led several experiential learning trips to England and Ireland where students have had the chance to step into the landscape and experience the writer’s world. For students at Washington College went on Kiplin Hall trips, this should sound familiar.

    Fondest WC Memory

Kiplin Hall, all of the trips. Travel experiences have played and continue to play a large part in my life. Both with my family and with the students I teach, I continue to travel, hike, and consider the impact of artists on various landscapes.

Let’s Hear It for the Liberal Arts

Liberal Arts education encourages students to think deeply and ask questions. In addition, WC’s small size is a superstrength that makes professors accessible and offers flexibility in the academic offerings.

    Advice

Go on the trip, take the extra class, join a club or start one. Take advantages of your professor’s availability and meet with them.
