    Driving Directions

    Maryland’s Eastern Shore is just across the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore. Proceed through the cornfields and past the river inlets to one of the prettiest small towns in America. You can get here by boat, but it may be faster to drive.

    Until urban sprawl reaches our shores and the town population grows above 5,000—and we fervently hope that doesn’t happen—there is no bus or taxi service to Chestertown.

    From points north (Philadelphia, New York, etc.)

    • Take I-95 South to Middletown/Route 896 exit (1A).
    • Route 896 merges with Route 301 South.
    • Take Galena exit (Route 290 South) and turn right.
    • At stoplight go straight onto Route 213 South.
    • In Chestertown, Route 213 becomes Washington Avenue.
    • Our address is 300 Washington Avenue.

    From points west (Washington D.C., Baltimore, etc.)

    • Take route of your choice to Routes 50/301 East and follow signs for Bay Bridge/Annapolis.
    • On the Eastern Shore continue on Routes 50/301.
    • In Queenstown and proceed north on Route 301.
    • Exit Route 301 at Route 213 and proceed north.
    • In Chestertown, Route 213 becomes Washington Avenue.
    • Our address is 300 Washington Avenue.

    From points south (Northern Virginia, etc.) 

    • Take either the Washington Beltway (I-495), I-95, or Route 301 to Routes 50/301 East.
    • On the Eastern Shore continue on Routes 50/301.
    • In Queenstown and proceed north on Route 301.
    • Exit Route 301 at Route 213 and proceed north.
    • In Chestertown, Route 213 becomes Washington Avenue.
    • Our address is 300 Washington Avenue.
