A New School Builds On Business Strength

Business Management
We believe businesses don't exist simply to make money, but to solve problems and add value to the world. Our students learn to consider business within the spheres of global and ethical responsibility and take a stakeholder approach to understanding the role of businesses within our society. Our graduates enter the business world bringing curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate and collaborate in teams.

Economics
Economics seeks to answer questions about international trade and finance, taxation, natural resources, poverty, discrimination, crime, pollution, education, and much more. Through economics, you learn to identify the consequences of policies, explore decision making to see how changes impact behavior, and understand the unintended consequences of those decisions.

International Studies
International Studies is an interdisciplinary major, coordinated by the departments of anthropology, business management, economics, history, modern languages, and political science. The program is flexible to your interest, but designed so you understand what's happening in the world through the impacts of language, the nature of economics, the institutions of international politics, and recognizing how the world was before.

World Languages and Cultures
Speaking more than one language allows you to connect with more people, think with different perspectives in mind, have a deeper appreciation for other cultures and so much more. At Washington College, majors in the Department of World Languages and Cultures prepare you to live and work in the global community of the 21st century by learning powerful tools to communicate and collaborate with people around the world, and even in an increasingly multilingual United States.
