Quantitative Skills Center

The Quantitative Skills Center is here to help you in any course that has a quantitative component. We have students come to us for help from Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Business, Economics, Chemistry, and Psychology Statistics classes. If you aren’t sure, just stop by and ask! We will do our best to help!

 Welcome to the QSC!

We can help with all of your number needs!

“Without this help I wouldn’t have gotten an A.”

“You are able to ask students for help, which somehow seems to be less intimidating.”

“They are willing to go slowly through the material and help you a great deal.”

“It’s free, professional tutoring.”

“Tutors were excellent.”

Our appointments are one-on-one with a tutor that is trained to help you with your specific course needs. You should come to your appointments with specific questions or problems on assignments and topics, as well as your notes and textbook for the course.  If you are just looking to sit and do homework and ask questions as they come up you should use our drop-in hours.  Appointments can be made during a variety of hours throughout the week Monday - Friday.  To schedule an appointment choose the “Make an Appointment” link in the blue navigation bar.  If you have questions or don’t see what you need contact Kerrin Ehrensbeck, the Director of the Quantitative Skills Center.

Drop-In Sessions

We have daily drop-in hours Monday - Thursday.  You can come and go as you please during these sessions.  Feel free to just hang out and study and do your homework so you can ask questions as they come up.  We have tutors with a wide range of back grounds during these sessions to cover all of your needs.  See the “Drop-In Hours” link on the left side of the page for our current hours of operation or click the button below.

Evening, Course Specific Drop-In Sessions

Calculus, Statistics, Physics, and Computer Science are our most popular courses that people ask for help in.  To meet this demand we have evening sessions for these specific courses.  This is a time where we encourage you to come and sit and do your homework so you can ask questions as they arise from our tutors and your fellow classmates.  When you have tests these hours will also serve as test review sessions.

Our Top Three Questions

Of course!  We have drop in hours Monday - Thursday from 12:30 - 4:30 pm.  We also have numerous, course specific, drop-in hours in the evening!

We aren’t here just for math courses!  We can help with any quantitative classes from the Computer Science, Business, Economics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry or Psychology Departments!

We provide a lot of services at the QSC, but we do not do the following:

  • Do your homework.
  • Create solutions.
  • Write up interpretations.
  • Write computer code.
  • Analyze your data.
  • Lecture

Yet, we will do our best to assist you in doing all of the above!
