About the Writing Center
From First-Year Seminar to Senior Capstone Experience, the Writing Center is here to help you with any writing project, in any course or subject area. Our peer writing consultants are experienced student writers who come from a variety of majors, so they can give you the right advice, no matter what you are working on or where you are in the writing process.
What happens in a Writing Center session?
A session with a peer writing consultant usually lasts around 30-45 minutes. You and the consultant will read and discuss the project you are working on. By the time you leave the Writing Center you'll have a clearer sense of where you want to go next and some strategies to help you get there.
What can I bring to the Writing Center?
You can come to the Writing Center to work on any kind of writing project, from research essays, to lab reports or creative writing.
- brainstorm at the start of an assignment
- develop and support an argument
