You Fit Here
Washington College has a vibrant campus community where you will find your fit. Beyond our array of clubs, which will connect you with like-minded students, there are opportunities throughout the year to connect with the larger College community.
Hang out with friends in various spaces across campus—The Golden Goose Pub, The Egg,
and The Goose Nest within Hodson Hall popular among them, with activities like darts,
pool, and foosball available. Picnic tables and lounge areas are located outdoors across campus, including in the Campus Garden, and outside of dorm buildings, which also have additional recreation equipment like
swings and a beach volleyball court.
Come together for a special meal in the dining hall. While the dining hall holds regular
hours for meals, there are some times where its offerings are truly special. Celebrate
Thanksgiving with food served by faculty and staff. Take a break from studying for
finals with midnight breakfast.
Give back to the Chestertown community through an organized volunteer effort through
Casey Time or iServe, community service initiatives that strengthen our bonds with each other and the
town. Make your voice heard and brainstorm new campus initiatives through the annual
Presidential Leadership Summit, which culminates in WAC Tank, an opportunity for you
to present your ideas to administration, faculty, and staff. Support the philanthropic
efforts of your peers in Greek Life through their annual fundraisers, including pancake breakfast, crab feast, Big Man
on Campus, and Pi in the Face.
Get dressed up and dance the night away with your friends at Shoremal, our version
of homecoming hosted each fall, or Birthday Ball, a spring celebration of our namesake,
George Washington. Attend our spring music festival, a free event that includes musical
acts, food trucks, and more.
Celebrate your classmates and their achievements through exploding pumpkins, War on
the Shore (lacrosse game against Eastern Shore rival Salisbury University), fall and
spring convocation, Dancescape, Senior Capstone Experience presentations, the Sophie
Kerr ceremony, and commencement.
Our community foundations are strong, and our students, faculty, and staff show up
for and support one another throughout the year with fun activities that give back,
strengthen, and celebrate our community.
