    #3. Weather at Washington College

Because of its location on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay, Washington College has milder weather than other nearby areas, such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Some people may think that a town of 5,000 people, such as Chestertown, would be quiet and boring. #7. Classes & Books

Because Washington College is a liberal arts college, we focus on the comprehensive development of students. This means that students study courses in a number of disciplines, with some classes required only for their disciplines, and others required for graduation from the college. Textbooks are not included in the tuition; students can research the textbooks required for their classes through the campus bookstore.

    #8. Communicating with Professors

Professors at Washington College expect students to interact with them, both inside and outside the classroom. In class, they want students to ask questions, express opinions, and even disagree. Being able to repeat what is written in textbooks is not enough; professors want students to volunteer answers and extend the topics discussed in class with their own thoughts and observations.
