Science Certification

Students at Washington College can become certified to teach biology, chemistry, environmental science, or physics by completing the appropriate major and the teacher certification program.

Want to Teach Biology?

Complete a major in biology or in environmental science along with the teacher certification program (which includes a student teaching internship in biology).

Students must complete at least 32 credit hours in biology.

Want to Teach Chemistry?

Complete a major in chemistry or in environmental science along with the teacher certification program (which includes a student teaching internship in chemistry).

Students must complete at least 32 credit hours in chemistry.

Want to Teach Environmental Science?

Complete a major in environmental science along with the teacher certification program (which includes a student teaching internship in environmental science).

Want to Teach Physics?

Complete a major in physics along with the teacher certification program (which includes a student teaching internship in physics).
