Transportation
Trail infrastructure, electric vehicle charging stations, and two bike share programs on campus mean students, faculty, and staff have plenty of ways to get around while keeping their carbon footprint low.
Green Transportation Infrastructure

Bike Share
Bike Share is a program run by the Student Government Association to give students free access to bicycles while the school year is in session.
Students are able to fill out this form to get a bike from SGA. They will receive a bike, lock, and helmet that they are responsible for for either the full semester or the year.
For more information, email the SGA Secretary of the Environment.

Chestertown Rail Trail
The two-mile Wayne Gilchrist Trail follows a former railroad track (now paved) running from north of the main campus to Cross Street at the south end of town near the Waterfront Campus, providing a scenic and protected path for walking or biking.

Electric Vehicle Charging
Bringing an electric vehicle to campus? With multiple level 2 charging stations at convenient locations — all charged by solar power — your next destination is always carbon-neutral.
The College recently upgraded three EV charging stations behind Bunting Hall and one at the Tennis Center. These new stations from ChargePoint provide better charging performance and are available for a fee charged through the ChargePoint mobile app.
There are four J1772 chargers behind Bunting Hall as well as three J1772 chargers next to Schottland Tennis Center.
The Washington community will pay a discounted fee of $.20/kilowatt hour. This nominal
fee covers the cost of the electricity and the maintenance of the equipment for the
College. The public will be charged a fee of $.40/kilowatt hour and will help generate
additional revenue for the College. The new fees will go into effect on February 14
and the charging stations will remain free until then. Other existing campus charging
stations will be decommissioned at the same time.
Drivers must register their vehicle with ChargePoint using the ChargePoint mobile
app. Use of the charging stations and payments are done through the ChargePoint app,
which is available for Apple and Google devices. The app allows you to check charging
station availability and make reservations. It also provides notifications about when
your charge is complete.
Please note that users of the charging stations will be responsible for moving their
cars within 60 minutes of the charge being complete. Vehicles that are not moved will
be assessed an additional fee of $3/hour and be subject to parking citations.
