Mary Alice Ball brings expertise as both a librarian and technologist to her position as Dean of Library and Academic Technology. She has worked in academic libraries and a dotcom, funded libraries, and taught aspiring librarians at Indiana University - Indianapolis.

Mary Alice obtained her PhD in Higher Education with a minor in MIS from the University of Arizona, and her MLIS from the University of Chicago. Her research and service focus on promoting digital inclusion, including on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and she currently serves on the National Tribal Library Broadband Council.
