Facilities
Spaces
Within the Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts music majors will find most everything they need to learn, perform, and produce. Practice rooms are available for music majors to work, and an on-campus recording studio provides a venue for students interested in recording their work, and those who want to learn more about the production process.
Hotchkiss Recital Hall
Devoted specifically to the performance of music, Hotchkiss is a 200-seat space with acoustics and lighting tailored to music performance. Senior Capstone Experiences (SCE) are performed in Hotchkiss. The hall is located on the second floor of the Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts.
Students also have full access to the Hotchkiss Recital Hall when they want to work on their performances, rather than having to schedule around other activities and departments.
The Alonzo G. and Virginia Gent Decker Theatre
This performance/lecture space is designed for public access for major events. The Decker Theatre offers seating capacity for 450 audience members.
Equipment
From recording equipment like microphones and stands to editing software, instruments to music stands, the Department of Music has a range of equipment available to majors.
