Washington College Collects

Organized by Kohl Gallery

Washington College Collects offers a peek into the vast archive of one of our country’s oldest liberal arts colleges. Nearly 250 years in the making, this exhibition dusts off highlights from an unprecedented collection of historic manuscripts, artifacts, and artworks.

This exhibit reflects on the vibrant history of our institution as we near our 250th anniversary, but more importantly this exhibition points to the shared value of our future together.

Washington College Collects has been curated by Kohl Gallery Director Rob Blackson with curatorial assistance from Art History student-intern Morgan Link.

Jericho Brown Poetry Workshop

Organized by Lit House

Jericho Brown is the author of 3 poetry collections, including The Tradition, winner of the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. His other awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship, as well as fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard, and from the Whiting Foundation. He teaches at and directs the creative writing program for Emory University.

Brown will lead a workshop on a poetic form he invented called the duplex, a form which draws on the pantoum, the sonnet, and the ghazal. Read more about the form.

Brown first used this form in his third collection, The Tradition (Copper Canyon Press, 2019).  You'll need to come with some lines already written, so please check out the homework prompt.
