The Washington College Pre-Veterinary Program addresses the unique needs of our pre-veterinary students and the challenging and highly-competitive admissions process for veterinary schools.
Our program advisor, Dr. Elizabeth Yost, provides individual advising and guidance to any Washington College student interested in veterinary medicine. Dr. Yost works with those students to appropriately plan their coursework in order to complete all of the prerequisities for veterinary school and helps our students navigate through the process of applying to veterinary school.
Washington College’s rural location affords our students nearby experiential opportunities with a wide range of animals including household companions, livestock big and small, laboratory species, horses, and wildlife.
For example, the River and Field Campus at Washington College is the largest conservation easement in the state of Maryland at 4,700 acres. Just a 10-minute drive from our main campus, the River and Field Campus offers students an unparalleled living classroom in a variety of subjects. Several of our Pre-Veterinary students have interned or done research at the River and Field Campus.
