Interactive class regarding injury prevention and the art of efficiency in the practice room. Learn important tools to create a balanced, complete musical education and the ability to be your own most valuable teacher. -
3:00pm: Matt Palmer Technique Clinic
Matt Palmer teaches a clinic on advanced classical (finger style) techniques. Topics discussed are speed, strength, scales, arpeggios, and rasgueados. Bring your guitar and be ready for a workout!

Open to the public to watch, advanced students will perform prepared pieces and be given pedagogical advice on musicality and technique by renowned classical guitarist and composer Benjamin Verdery. -
1:00pm: Dr. Adam Kossler: “The Next Frontier: Guitar Education in Public Schools”
Dr. Adam Kossler will present a new perspective on teaching guitar in public schools as well as the opportunities and obstacles of becoming a successful classical guitarist in modern times. -
2:00pm: Rafael Scarfullery: Classical Guitar Music from the Dominican Republic
In this lecture/recital, we’ll explore the 20th century works of professional and amateur composers and guitarists from the Dominican Republic.
