Landmark $1.32 Million Civic Innovation Scholarships Announced for Maryland Service Corps Members
January 8 2026Up to 10 service Members will be awarded $33,000 each year for 4 years. The announcement was made at the 3rd Annual All Corps Maryland Corps/Service Year Option Program event with Maryland’s Department of Service and Civic Innovation.
Phaedra Michelle Scott '14 Comes Home
January 5 2026Since graduating from Washington with a double major in history and theatre, most of Scott’s writing projects have been inspired by historical events. The power of theatre to imbue historical events with emotional power is one of the things that she values about the art form. Her latest work had its world premiere at at the Delaware Theatre Company in Wilmington, Scott’s hometown, last year, and her next world premiere is in February in Philadelphia.
