Heather Switzer Headshot

Heather Switzer is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Mathematics and Computer Science department at Washington College. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2024 under the supervision of Dr. Andreas Stathopoulos at The College of William & Mary. Prior to this, she earned her M.S. degree in Computer Science at The College of William & Mary in 2020, her B.S. in both Mathematics and Computer Science at Longwood University in 2018, and her A.S. from Richard Bland College in 2015. Her primary fields of study include numerical linear algebra involving iterative methods for eigenvalue problems, randomized subspace embeddings, preconditioning techniques, and high-performance computing. In her free time, she loves hanging out at home with her cats, watching K-dramas, and playing video games such as Sims 4, Stardew Valley, and Genshin Impact.
