Spaces in Miller Library

Spaces in Miller Library

Within Miller Library, there are four specialized learning and production spaces, which are designed to work in unison.

Beck Lab

Beck Lab is a closed (scheduled) technology-infused lab, transformable to your technology learning needs.  Faculty members can contact  if they are interested in utilizing this space.

With a physical footprint on the ground floor of Miller Library, IDEAWORKS is an open-access suite of creative production and experimentation facilities.  We offer curricular and co-curricular programming to the campus, with the support of students and full-time staff. IDEAWORKS is comprised of the following three spaces;

Multimedia Production Center

The Multimedia Production Center (MPC),  in the front half of the suite, supports your academic and personal multimedia projects.  The space is equipped with Mac computers running the Adobe CC suite and several other multimedia applications.

MPC Students from Pre-Orientation Filmmaking & Photography Boot Camp using the computers in the MPC to edit their photos.

Our Loaner Pool is available from within the MPC, and offers free access to video camcorders, DSLR cameras, audio recorders, and more.

The IDEAWORKS Makerspace extends the digital creative capabilities of the MPC by allowing users to design and fabricate items using modern digital tools, as well as traditional fabrication methods.  Embracing the power of the Maker Culture, the Makerspace provides access to training and tools such as 3D Printers, laser cutting and etching, electronics prototyping, sewing, traditional fabrication tools, and more.

Sound Studio

(Featuring the One Button Studio)

Our Sound Studio is a compact but versatile acoustically treated 9’x9’ production space.  Individuals and small groups may use this space for personal and class projects that include recording voiceover narration, studio quality video, and more.

Walk-in use is allowed when it’s not in use, however reserving a time slot on the studio’s calendar is preferable.  To make a reservation, fill out your details on the two clipboards mounted just outside the studio.
