As an Economics and Philosophy student, Emily is interested in finding solutions to some of the most pressing problems affecting our world.

After working as a sustainability intern for the college her sophomore year she developed a passion for environmental justice and composting. As a result, she helped to create Washington College’s Compost Team and is currently the President of the Team. The Compost Team has grown to become an active member of both the campus community and the local community by hosting educational and interactive events about composting and by holding fundraisers for the local community’s organizations such as the Kent County Food Pantry.
