Rebeca specializes in Hispanic Caribbean literature and cultures. Her areas of interest include literature and law, African diaspora and Afro-Caribbean studies, and cultural materials produced under colonialism in early and contemporary societies in the Spanish Antilles. For her second book project tentatively titled: Critical Edition and Translation of Francisco José de Jaca´s Resolución she was awarded an Academy of American Franciscan History grant in fall 2020.
