Vacation Break Schedule

IMPORTANT!!  March 11, 2020 Update from Student Affairs - Housing and Spring Break Shuttle

Dear Students,

We wanted to update you on several issues related to the recent announcement that Washington College is extending spring break for one week as a result of the national coronavirus situation. We first wanted to clarify that next week is an additional break week and there are no on-line classes next week. An announcement of when on-line learning will commence will be shared next week.

 Residence Halls

We are strongly recommending that students who are off campus remain off campus and students who are on campus and are able to do so, depart campus by Sunday, March 15 at the latest. We understand that there may be circumstances where students have nowhere else to go and they will be permitted to stay on campus. We will be restricting ID card access to those who are remaining on campus in residence halls starting on Monday, March 16th

Today you should have received an email from Ursula Herz, Director of Residential Life, requesting information about whether you are off campus or on and your plans. We will use the results of this to grant permission to students requesting to stay on or return to campus. If you are requesting to stay on campus or return to campus and have not completed the form, you will get another reminder email shortly and should complete the form asap.

For those who have already completed the form, we will follow up with those who have indicated they are remaining on campus or requesting return. For those students who must be on campus student services including dining, health and counseling, residential life, and other key support operations will continue to function.

Picking Up Belongings

Students will be allowed to come to campus to pick up belongings from their residence halls but we ask that they notify Residential Life at residential_life@washcoll.edu. If you have an emotional support animal or any other approved pet with you on campus you must take the animal with you when you depart campus.

If you or anyone you are staying with is showing symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other respiratory symptoms you should remain where you are and contact the office of Residential Life at residential_life@washcoll.edu if you need assistance.

Spring Break Shuttle
If you made a reservation with American Limo for return to campus on March 14th or 15th and won’t be returning to campus, please make sure you email them at washcoll@amerlimo.com to cancel your reservation. They will still transport students who are approved to return on the 14th or 15th.  A separate email will be sent about an updated schedule for return shuttles in the coming days.

We will provide additional updates as they become available.

Stay healthy!
