What to bring

  • A computer or a laptop (computer recommendations)
  • Hangers
  • Alarm clock
  • Important papers (financial aid, registration information, driver’s license, medical insurance, social security card). NOTE: Any student who is working on-campus will need to provide two forms of ID at the time of hire. Typically, students provide a state-issued photo identification card like a drivers license and a social security card or passport).
  • Desk supplies
  • Desk and/or bed lamp
  • Snack foods in sealable containers
  • Basic tools
  • Linens for extra-long twin mattresses
  • Iron/ironing board
  • Stereo - with headphones
  • Small refrigerator (less than 5 cubic feet)
  • Microwave
  • Dishes
  • Posters and decorations for the room. Please note that, per the Fire Marshall, only 10% of the walls in any residence hall room or suite may be covered with posters or decorations. Nothing should be hung from the ceiling.
  • Bathroom essentials
  • Laundry basket
  • Ethernet cable 
  • Television
  • Cable cord
  • Rugs
  • Pillows

Things Not To Bring 

  • Fireworks
  • Illegal drugs
  • Waterbeds
  • Pets of any kind, except for fish
  • Any appliance with an open heating coil
  • Candles or any item with an open flame element (including incense)
  • Wireless printers
  • Weapons of any kind.
