The Washington College Bookstore is the one stop shop for all of text book and WAC gear needs. We can answer all of your textbook questions, while making sure you and your family are dressed in your WAC best.

The Barbara and George Cromwell Center for Teaching and Learning supports a culture of sharing expertise, experiences, and best practices to support the mission of the Washington College and to meet the needs of our students.

يدعم مكتب تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية الطلبة الدوليين في مسيرتهم الأكاديمية في واشنطن كولج وخصوصًا خلال الفصول الدراسية الأولى كونها فترة التأقلم للتعليم العالي بنظام أمريكي.
من المتوقع أن يكون أخذ محاضرات بلغة غير لغة الأم تحديًا يواجه الطلبه الذين يتعلمون اللغة الانجليزية٬ إلا أن البيئة الأكاديمية أيضًا تشكل تحديًا كونها تختلف تمامًا عن البيئة المدرسية في بلدهم. ولأنه على الطلبة أن يعتادوا على نظام تعليمي داخل الصف وإن كان مختلفا عن نظامهم السابق. كجزء من تعليم الليبرال ارتس٬ تعد الصفوف في واشنطن كولج مكان للتعليم الديناميكي والتعبير عن الرأي. لبعض الطلاب، التركيز على التعاون والمشاركة بين الطلاب والهيئة التدريسية في داخل الصف وخارجه يعد نقلة نوعية من تجاربهم الماضية.
بالإضافة الى المزايا فردية لدى الطلبة ودعم الهيئة التدريسية يقدم مكتب تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية مواد معتمده ومصممه لتحضر الطلاب للبيئة الاكاديمية في واشنطن كولج. باستضافة من قسم اللغات الحديثة٬ تركز هذه المواد على تعليم اللغة الانجليزية وهذا يتضمن الكتابة في السنة الأولى وشرح للإجراءات والسياسات الأكاديمية التي يمكن أن يواجها الطالب. تعرف هذه المواد الطلبة الدوليين على مبادئ الكتابة الاكاديمية والبحث العلمي في التعليم العالي في الجامعات الأمريكية.

By international students, for international students, the virtual orientation series closes the gap between imagination and reality for those preparing to attend Washington College.

ما هو عدد المواد التي يأخذها الطلبة في كل فصل دراسي؟
إن العدد المعتاد عليه هو أربعة مواد في كل فصل دراسي وكل مادة تعادل أربع وحدات دراسية معتمدة. في بعض الأحيان يختار الطلبة تسجيل خمسة مواد في الفصل الدراسي الواحد ولكن يجب على الطالب أن يسجل بثلاثة مواد على الأقل لكي يبقى طالب بشكل كامل طوال الوقت ولا يسمح للطالب أن يسجل أكثر من 22 وحدة دراسية في الفصل الدراسي الواحد.

ماذا يعني تعليم الليبرال أرتس؟
إن هذا النوع يمثل التعليم الشامل حيث يأخذ الطلبة مواد في مختلف التخصصات والمجالات ويختصون في المجال الذي يفضلونه. فعلى سبيل المثال٫ الطالب المتخصص في إدارة الأعمال يأخذ مواد في مجالات أخرى كالأحياء واللغة الانجليزية والموسيقى فالهدف من هذا النوع من التعليم هو توفير المعرفة والمعلومات الشاملة في مختلف الأمور.
