Phil Ticknor moved into the position of Coordinator of Pre-Health Professions Programs in November 2019 after heading up the communications efforts of the athletic department for over 18 years. As Coordinator of Pre-Health Professions Programs, Ticknor works with the faculty advisors of the Premedical, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Pharmacy, and Pre-Allied Health Professions Programs to promote and coordinate the programs and their events as well as serving as an additional guide for students in those programs. He also serves as a member of the Premedical Committee and is a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.
During his time in athletics, Ticknor was presented with the Presidents's Distinguished Service Award in 2016. He has previously served two terms on Staff Council, including one year as Chair. He has participated in numerous search committees at Washington College. In addition to heading up communications in athletics, he also fulfilled duties in Academic Support and NCAA Compliance during his tenure in that department.
Mr. Ticknor is a 2001 graduate of Goucher College (B.A. in Communication, Degree with Distinction) and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
