He primarily uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to helping people create a life worth living. CBT uses behavior change strategies that focus on changing thoughts and behaviors to promote feeling better and working toward person focused goals. Roland has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as a six month Core Clinical Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Roland has worked with various populations ranging from children to adults in various capacities such as case management, mental health therapy and counseling I believe life is a balancing act. Sometimes life throws curve balls and throws you off balance. Part of what I do as a therapist is to help you get to where you want to be by finding balance. I assist people in identifying and accepting where they are to promote success in moving forward and initiating the change that is required to promote a healthy well-being. Sometimes stress piles up, or emotions prompt us to do things we aren’t proud of, other times, we act without thinking or are not sure what to do or where to go from here. I believe it is important to meet you where you are and part of that is helping you to accept your life where it is while encouraging you to make the change that is needed. I work under the assumption that people are doing the best they can and often benefit from a therapeutic perspective.
