Andrea (Ande) came to Washington College from Queen Anne’s County where she held positions such as Communications Specialist, Program Coordinator, and Video Specialist. She has also had experience working in independent videography and graphics projects, for companies such as Johns Hopkins, Groupon and the Chesapeake Film Festival. She brings a strong work ethic, an appreciation for film, photography and the arts and a diverse range of creative skills.
As the Assistant Director of Digital Media Services at Washington College, she is responsible for helping faculty and students to create digital media that enhances their visual communications skills, assist the Director with advancing maker pedagogy across the disciplines, and ensure the smooth operation of the IDEAWORKS Innovation Suite and the Multimedia Production Center. In addition, she oversees video production services throughout the campus and trains students in producing digital media for high profile clients, including Senior Staff and the Board of Visitors and Governors. She also assists with student programming including the 24 Hour Digital Video Challenge, the 60 Seconds or Less Film Festival, the WAC Photography Club and the Maker’s Union.
