Ian Egland

Class of 2016
Major/Minor: Computer Science

I am an alumnus who graduated in 2016.

My involvement on campus as a student was very important to me. The Computer Club has a special place in my heart as the group that I helped recreate after many years of dormancy. My membership in the Cater Society gave me access to a research community that encouraged me to think freely. And three summers in the Toll Research program gave me valuable experience that helped me land my first jobs as Software Engineer and as a Computer Engineer.

The Math & Computer Science department at Washington College gave me the opportunity to earn a top notch education. I am very proud of the coursework I completed, especially my Senior Capstone Experience where I researched Android’s ‘Stagefright’ vulnerability.

If you have any questions about what I did while I was enrolled, why I chose to major in Computer Science or about what it’s like to work in this field, please send me an email. I still check my account!
