Class of 2017
Major/Minor: History, Secondary Education

Baltimore City, MD

High School:

Western High School “Only the Best”

Why did you choose your major?

I chose my major because when I was in middle school I had a teacher, Mrs. Mukes, who was very different from any teacher I have ever had. She changed my perspective on teachers.  I believed that teachers did not really care about their students and were only there to receive a paycheck. However, Mrs. Mukes proved me wrong.  She brought breakfast every morning for my class because she knew some of us were not able to eat before school; she gave mock interviews for the students who wanted to go to high schools that required it, and always encouraged us to do more and work hard. She really cared.  Also one of my goals in life is to have a positive impact on others and what better way to do that than through education!

Favorite Chestertown Hangout:

My favorite Chestertown hangout is the Waterfront. I love to go there on a beautiful day after grabbing something from Rita’s or Dunkin Donuts and enjoy the view. It’s also a great place to study if you don’t feel like being in the library.

What is your favorite quote:

“You are braver than you belive, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”  Winnie the Pooh

Favorite thing to order at the Cove:

Mondo’s Home on the Ranch. It’s delicious!  It’s a sub that comes with Turkey, Bacon,  Cajun seasoning and anything else that you would love to add to it!
