Eshan Patel

Campus Involvement

Eshan was a Resident Assistant, Biology Peer Tutor, and Biology Lab Assistant at Washington College. He acted as President of Health Occupations Students of America and Pledge Educator for Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Eshan was also a member of the American Chemical Society, Colleges Against Cancer, and the Institutional Review Board, as well as participating in Relay for Life.

Eshan was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows. He was President of Omicron Delta Kappa, Leadership Honor Society and Vice-President of Order of Omega, Greek Leadership Society. He was a John S. Toll Science & Mathematics Fellow and a Presidential Fellow, on top of membership to Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society, Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society, and Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society. He was awarded The CRC Press Chemistry Achievement Award and the Willard F. Rockwell, Jr. Scholarship-Leadership Award.

Eshan received the Postbaccalaureate NIH Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) to study molecular-based international HIV epidemiology at Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health. After this two-year fellowship through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, he plans to attend medical school.
