Robert Martino

Robert was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005. His citation is below:

Bob Martino is one of the most outstanding lacrosse midfielders to have played for Washington College. Even today, he lives and breathes lacrosse. After playing club and professional league lacrosse, Bob Martino now promotes the game; he is Vice-President of Lax World, Inc., and serves as National Sales Manager.

Bob came to Chestertown in 1986 from Canandaigua Academy where he had distinguished himself in two sports—football and lacrosse. Both All-Star First teams named Bob Martino to their rosters.

Each of the Shoreman teams he played for advanced to post-season NCAA play. Bob was selected a first team All-American in his junior and senior years. His career scoring record totaled 119 points, with 83 goals and 36 assists. In his senior year, Bob was team captain and, at graduation, received the prestigious Senior Athletic Award.

He was active in other college activities as well, serving as vice-president of the Lambda Phi Delta Fraternity. He earned Dean’s List status in three of his final four semesters.

Bob played for the Mt. Washington Lacrosse Club and Lax World Lacrosse Club. Playing professional indoor league with the Pittsburgh Bulls, he was selected to the All-Pro team. As a player for Baltimore Thunder, he was selected All-Pro and All-Century Team Captain. He was, and remains, Mr. Lacrosse.

Washington College considers it an honor and privilege to induct Robert J. Martino into the Washington College Athletic Hall of Fame on this seventh day of October, 2005.
