Why did you choose your major?
Psychology has always been something I’m really interested in. While I’m not sure what I want to do with it yet, I’m especially interested in creativity and affective disorders such as depression and bipolar spectrum disorders, the overlap between creativity and psychopathology, and how these factors influence attitudes toward and risk of suicide.
What’s it like living in Chestertown?
A lot of students don’t realize how nice Chestertown can be because they never go out and explore the area. Downtown can be really fun on a Saturday morning during the farmers’ market or on a First Friday, or during holidays and festivals over the summer. We’re also at a great central location to visit Philly, Baltimore, D.C., and other surrounding areas. I’ve really enjoyed living here.
What is your favorite Ctown hangout?
I really love going to Play It Again Sam’s, a little coffee house downtown on Cross Street. The Prince Theatre at the Garfield Centre for the Arts is also a favorite place; I’ve met a lot of amazing people by participating in the Short Attention Span Theatre one summer.
