Class of 2009
Major/Minor: Business Management
The Student/Faculty interaction at Washington College was a big reason why I chose to attend, and I am happy to say I had a great many friendly relationships with faculty over my time there.
How has your liberal arts education influenced you?
The ability to be flexible and nimble in such a cutthroat economic world is invaluable. I apply a great deal of my knowledge and learning to my career as a Small Business Owner. I may find myself online marketing one day and doing technical work in a studio the next so the ability to shift gears quickly helps keep me on track. I would never have been able to get a project like The (919) going without the lessons I learned in college.
Who was your favorite faculty member?
Dr. Aaron Krochmal was our Faculty advisor, and a dear friend. I had many meals with him and his wife Erin trying out the latest restaurants in town. I also fondly remember times working closely with Carl Crowe, Corey Olsen, Dr. Harvey, Dr. Scott Pearson, and others. What is your favorite Washington College memory?
Hosting our very first Kappa Sigma Pancake Breakfast - I remember a 90 year old gentleman from town came up to me and showed me his Signet Ring, and I realized that fellowship and connection with strangers can be found anywhere.
