Erin Gillin Rothwell ’99 M’02 has both a bachelors and master’s degree in English from WC.

As a student, she played field hockey and lacrosse. After college, Erin taught at Notre Dame Prep in Towson; during that time she also co-directed the middle school musical productions, coached middle school lacrosse and became the head coach of the varsity field hockey team.

Because of her outstanding involvement at Notre Dame Prep, Erin was awarded with the “Kathleen Kirby Award” for “commitment above and beyond the call of duty to education, children and the Christian philosophy.” 

Currently, Erin is in her 4th year of teaching at Calvert School in Baltimore. In addition to teaching, she coaches club lacrosse for MLC and rec field hockey for Towsontowne. Erin lives in Towson with her husband, Jake, and her daughter Olivia. Olivia LOVES trips to Chestertown to visit, “Poppy”, Professor Richard Gillin, and thoroughly enjoys her visits to the WC dining hall!
