After working for the Savannah College of Art and Design for seven years, I was fortunate to be offered the Director of Human Resources position at our new Hong Kong campus which opened in September 2010.
I moved here in September 2011 with my two-year-old daughter, Caroline. Working in the early stages of a start-up location offers plenty of challenges, but doing what I love in an exciting and new location is something I take time to appreciate every day. I was an international studies major, but never had a strong interest in Asia, so I feel extremely lucky to have ended up in a part of the world that I otherwise probably would have never explored. I believe my experiences at WAC, and my studies abroad through the college, directly made this opportunity possible for me. Working in higher education, I am constantly reminded of my life at WAC and the value of wonderful professors who teach students how to think critically and creatively. I would love for anyone traveling to or through Hong Kong to contact me.
