Dean Hebert

The 1988 Sophie Kerr Winner


Dean Hebert is Assistant Director of the Honors College at the University of MD, College Park, where he teaches an Honors class on the short story. (He earned an MFA from the University of MD in 1993.)

In 2008 he won the first Washington Post Magazine short story contest with “Love is Kryptonite.” Another short story, “The King of Broken Hearts,” was published in the Delmarva Review in 2011. He lives in Mechanicsville, MD.
