Doug Rose lives in Baltimore, MD. He has worked as a director in the publishing program at the American Council for the Arts and then as a marketing manager for Macmillan Publishing, both in New York.

He has been on disability due to AIDS since 1997. Since going on disability, as his health has allowed, he has kept busy as a volunteer for various local, state and national organizations, providing support primarily to communications and fundraising programs. Most recently, he spent a year providing editorial direction and writing articles for Gay Life newspaper, a publication of the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore (GLCCB). He has also spent the last two years working with the Washington College Alumni Alliance’s Drama Alumni affinity group to help raise funds for the recent theater renovation and to help produce entertainment for the annual Commencement/ Reunion weekend in Chestertown.
