Spring 2011 Update

Karen Bescher ’65 received a BA in Political Science from Washington College in 1965 and a MS in Elementary Education from Western Connecticut State University in 1971. As a student, Karen was a Class Officer for her sophomore, junior and senior years. She was also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She continues to be active in assisting the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority as Treasurer of the AOII Corporation Board. Following graduation, Karen taught the primary grades in elementary school and social studies in middle school.

Karen is a retired Qualifications Analyst for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) where she was responsible for developing and maintaining the Series examination programs for the securities industry. Prior to FINRA, Karen worked for NASDAQ Market Operations.

Karen is currently living in Clayton, NC. with her husband Ron. She has three grown sons, Douglas, Adam and Jonathan, and three grown step-daughters, Karen, Leslie and Nancy. In addition to spending time with her grandchildren Maddie, Caitlin, Cameron, and Kaylea , Karen loves traveling and visiting her condo at Wrightsville Beach, NC. She has enjoyed attending the reunions for the Class of ’65 and is looking forward to the 45th Reunion in May.
