Warren Milberg

Since Graduation:
After graduation in 1962, I entered the U.S. Air Force and became a professional intelligence officer. Served over 20 years with the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Intelligence Community Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the Central Intelligence Agency. Spent over three years in Vietnam running counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency programs for CIA. Other interesting assignments included teaching “Intelligence Policy and National Security” at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy; working on early “land for peace” proposals between Israel and the Palestinians at an in-house Department of Defense think tank; and representing the Secretary of Defense before the House and Senate Select Committees on Intelligence. At the conclusion of my federal service, I went to work for the Titan and Compex Corporations where I was a deputy general manager for an operating division responsible for project management and business development. I eventually became an independent national security consultant for a number of years. Since retirement, I served on a number of public service boards to include the Center for Multicultural Human Services and the Harris Corporation. I was also trained and served as a Court Appointed Advocate for Abused and Neglected Children (CASA) in Fairfax County, VA.

I have been an avid boat owner and sailor since 1970 and have written for a number of national and local sailing publications. I am currently a contributing writer for the regional Chesapeake Bay sailing magazine “SpinSheet.” I also volunteer at two local animal shelters and love yoga classes.
