Upon graduation from Washington College, Phil began a working career with the Dupont Company that lasted 40 years.
Most of that time was spent in finance in Wilmington, DE. There were a couple years spent in sales support in Boston in the early 1970s. During that time he and his wife Pat enjoyed vacationing along the Maine coast and the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire. They continue to vacation there every year since returning to Wilmington.
Phil has become an active gardener with the help of Pat: move this shrub from here to there, trim this tree, plant these bulbs, etc. Kidding aside, he does enjoy gardening and volunteers each year at the Philadelphia Flower Show and the Delaware Center for Horticulture’s annual Rare Plant Auction. Other activities include “birding,” most of which is “backyard,” and running. He celebrated 30 years of running 15 to 20 miles a week last year.
