Jennifer Hopper is a professor of political science, specializing in the American presidency, mass media, and political communication. Originally hailing from New York City, she received her B.A. from Hunter College and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the City University of New York Graduate Center.
Professor Hopper teaches courses on U.S. national political institutions including Congress, the presidency, and the news media, as well as courses focused on the broader political environment and studying political parties, interest groups, social movements, and public policy. She also teaches the department's introductory course in American Government. Prior to coming to Washington College in the fall of 2011, she taught at Hunter College where she received a spring 2011 presidential award for excellence in teaching.
In her free time, Dr. Hopper enjoys watching sports, both in the stands and on TV, and baking desserts.
