Marcia Landskroener M’02
Marcia is a recipient of the 2012 President’s Distinguished Service Award.
A native of Rock Hall, Marcia holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and contemporary literature from Western Maryland College and a master’s in English from Washington College. She worked as a reporter for the Queen Anne’s County Record Observer and as a legal secretary for attorneys in Springfield, Mass., and Chestertown before joining the Office of College Relations in 1984.
As one of three staffers, she was the media relations contact and sports information director. Her responsibilities grew to include writing and editing all external College publications. With the launch of the Washington College Magazine in 1987, Marcia was named managing editor, a position she held until assuming the editor’s title in 2007—the same year she was named Director of Communications. Editor of the 2000 history, Washington: The College at Chester and co-editor of Athey’s Field, a collection of essays celebrating College athletics, Marcia remains the go-to expert on all things Washington College.
She was named senior director of College Felations and Marketing in 2013 and served as interim vp in 2016. In January 2019, Marcia became part of a new College Communications unit within the President’s Office leading strategic communications.
