W. Winston Elliott III `82

Major/Minor: History

Winston Elliott III is Publisher and Editor in Chief of The Imaginative Conservative. Additionally, he is Editor of Imaginative Conservative Books and President of The Free Enterprise Institute. He also serves as a member of the Institute’s Board of Trustees. He is Visiting Professor of Liberal Arts and Conservative Thought at Houston Baptist University.

The Imaginative Conservative is an online-journal, which has published 6100 essays by 1,100 authors since its debut in 2010 and has been read by more than 16 million readers. As president of the Free Enterprise Institute Mr. Elliott has for twenty-seven years directed seminars for academics, college students and teachers. Topics include American history, world history, government, economics, literature, foreign affairs, and philosophy.

Mr. Elliott is a member of the Board of Directors of Wyoming Catholic College. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, and the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Society.

Mr. Elliott is married to the author Barbara J. Elliott (Street Saints, Candles Behind the Wall) who is Professor of Liberal Arts in the Honors College of Houston Baptist University.  Together, they have four children and eleven grandchildren.
