Tya M. Pope, MPA serves as the Assistant Dean for Curricular Enrichment and the coordinator for the Washington Scholars Program. As the Assistant Dean, Pope is responsible for promoting and connecting students with internships and other experiential learning opportunities, working with departments and programs to develop and implement dual degree or post-grad study opportunities, and work with students on post-graduate scholarship and fellowship programs. As the coordinator for the Washington Scholars Program, Pope will organize activities, seminars, and other opportunities for the scholars within the program to acclimate to the college campus.
Pope earned a BA in political science and women’s studies (2006) and master’s degree in p[ublic administration (2012) from the University of Delaware. Prior to working at Washington College, Pope worked in a variety of community nonprofits in the state of Delaware.
