Mark C. Hampton serves as the College’s Executive Vice President of Strategy and Operations. In this position, he oversees key areas of administration while developing a holistic institutional strategy for enhancing the College’s financial stability and solidifying its long-term sustainability.
Hampton led Washington College’s Office of Finance and Administration for two years before taking the position of Vice President for Enrollment and Enterprise Analytics at the New York Institute of Technology, where he oversaw the Institute’s strategic enrollment management, analytics and business intelligence, institutional research, planning, and accreditation efforts.
Before coming to Washington College in 2014, Hampton had been at the University of Virginia since 2007 as Senior Associate Dean for Strategy and Planning for UVA’s Curry School of Education, and then as the University’s Assistant Vice President for Budget and Financial Planning, while also serving as an associate professor in the Department Leadership, Foundations and Policy. Hampton has also served senior leadership roles in institutional research, budgeting, research administration, and planning at Virginia Commonwealth University, the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia, and the University of Utah.
Hampton has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master’s degree in mathematical statistics, and a PhD in educational leadership and policy, all from the University of Utah.
Hampton oversees the Office of Finance, IT Infrastructure, College Relations and Marketing, Facilities Management, and Human Resources.
