My research is at the intersection of social and health psychology, focusing on health and well-being in the context of awaiting uncertain future outcomes, such as medical test results, exam scores, and job interviews. These periods of uncertainty exacerbate distress in ways that can negatively influence coping and health. My research attempts to build this literature by examining how people successfully navigate uncertain stressors with particular focus on the effects of seeking, receiving, and providing social support.
