Vision/Goals
Bike Share
When I took this position, Bike Share was a major cause of stress for me because the program was very disorganized with very little help from administration. I think with Student Engagement doing such an amazing job, we have a chance to expand our program this term.
Water bottle refill stations
It’s incredibly important that we minimize the amount of single-use plastics on campus. Prioritizing highly populated areas such as the River dorms and the athletic stadiums for water bottle refill stations will be a fantastic improvement for the campus and our efforts to be a green campus.
Environmental suggestion box
Put something next to the SGA Secretary of Environment profile, so we can direct environmental concerns to where they need to go.
Water bottles
These need to be readily available for all students. If we’re saying we’re committed to being an environmentally-friendly campus, we need to make the bigger changes that the school has been putting off.
Tree Campus
We are really close to getting this certification! Tree Campus USA is a nationally recognized program to acknowledge campuses that are making an effort to be more environmentally-friendly and sustainable, and this certification could be a big pull for potential STEM students.
Educational Campaign
An ongoing campaign with tables in Hodson for holidays and observances is an incredibly effective way to reach out to students who aren’t actively thinking about the environment, and get everyone trying to make positive changes to their daily routines to be more conscious of the environment.
