Q&A

What’s your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is the Waterfront, I started working at the college’s boat house during my first semester at WAC – knowing absolutely nothing about boats or the water – and over the course of a year I was fully certified to drive all of the boats. Its such a unique place and being able to go out on the river is such a liberating experience. Next I want to learn to sail!

What’s your #1 college survival tip?

Say yes to everything. Within reason obviously, but finding yourself in unusual situations are the best way to learn and growduring your time at Washington College. So if you’ve got a car and a friend needs you to go pick up one of their friends because they’re stranded at a train station in DC. You say why not grab your coat and smoke a cigar on the drive down, or at least that’s what I did.

What’s the best thing about living in Chestertown, MD?

Honestly, I never thought that I would be saying this in my life, but after studying abroad and living in London the place that I missed the most in Chestertown was the WAC Library, its where you and your friends hang out and you can sit somewhere in a quite place all day and write papers and do your work. I don’t know how good I had it until I didn’t.
