Kim Middleton is the founding director of The Center for Academic Innovation and Creativity (CAIC) at Mount St. Mary’s University, Los Angeles. CAIC acts as a fulcrum for one of the university’s core values—innovative teaching and learning—by forwarding faculty development and experimentation across its undergraduate, graduate, working adult, and online curricula. In addition, the Center houses interdisciplinary initiatives including the Keck Undergraduate Research Program; the Honors Program; and academic and holistic student support. In her former role as Associate Professor of English at the College of Saint Rose, Kim taught classes on 20th and 21stcentury narrative across media. Her most recent publications focus on digital pedagogy, especially remix, as a creative and critical practice. She holds a Ph.D. in English with a concentration in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame.
