I am beyond thrilled that you are considering Washington College in your college search!
Washington College holds a special place in our nation’s history. We were the first college established in the new nation following the Revolutionary War and the first college in Maryland! (cool, right?) Washington College is officially named after George Washington himself because he played a key role in our institution’s founding. He believed that the nation needed a college to teach the citizens of the new nation how to lead. At WAC, we embody those same ideals by providing a liberal arts education in order to build life-long learners that possess integrity, determination, curiosity, civility, leadership, and moral courage. I would personally love for you to be a part of such a legacy!
At Washington, we have approximately 1,450 undergraduate students, which means we have the benefit of smaller class sizes. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1, you can be rest assured that you will not be just a number at WAC. Your professors will know you by name and help you reach your full potential. With campus resources, such as the River and Field campus, a 4,700-acre living lab incorporates 2.5 miles of Chester River waterfront, or the Rose O’Neill Literary House, a cultural hub on campus that offers student writers mentorship and professional guidance, you will thrive in a hands-on learning atmosphere.
Something that I personally love about Washington is that you will never be put into a box. For example, you can be an athlete who also studies abroad, a political science major who also participates in WACappella, etc. You can explore the opportunity double major or minor in another field of study in order to serve your interest in separate disciplines as well as participate in clubs and organizations. At Washington, you’re going to grow in and out of the classroom.
I recently graduated from college, so I completely understand that this time can be super exciting but also stressful, which is why I am here to help you every step of the way. I’m absolutely thrilled to be a resource to you on this journey and will show you all the amazing opportunities you will have by joining the WAC community.
I encourage you to come visit our beautiful campus! Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns about the application process. I wish you the best of luck on your college search!
