Dan Premo - Special Events
Dan and his wife Rita have lived in Chestertown since 1970. He is Professor Emeritus of History and Political Science at Washington College, where he held the College’s Louis L. Goldstein Chair in Public Affairs for fourteen years. Before entering academia, he served for eight years with the U.S. Information Agency in Guatemala and Colombia. After retiring in 2003, he returned to the College on several occasions to fill in for colleagues on sabbatical or maternity leave. He also was a frequent destination speaker for various cruise lines sailing in the Western Caribbean and through the Panama Canal. He taught his first course for WC-ALL in 2012, and most recently coordinated WC-ALL’s Aventura Cubana trip to Cuba last November.
Dan and Rita enjoy traveling and spending time with their two children and six grandchildren on the Western Shore. When not involved in professional or family-related activities, he enjoys classical music, bass fishing, and duplicate bridge.
